Friday!!!

I got my new phone!! I am forced to admit that my new 'Highlight' is better than my beloved 'Behold'. Not in a lot of ways, but I do love it. Caroline immediately took it and took some self portraits, I could not resist making this one my wallpaper. She is so weird.

Caroline has Cooking Success

This week Caroline baked her first batch of cookies all by herself! She did a great job and Nick, Miles and Tara all spoiled their dinner by eating a bunch of them straight out of the oven.
I only helped a little bit, with stuff like where do we keep the baking soda (NOT the one in the fridge, honey), and now she knows where the secret cookie baking cookie sheets are.

She was so proud, she even went online, and found her own recipe!! She likes my cookies, but prefers them without oatmeal, so she made them herself. She even cleaned up!
Apparently am now a food blog.

Egypt Night

Before school ended, we got to enjoy Egypt Night at Caroline's school. 3 of the 3rd grade classes put together this museum of artifacts that they made. We all brought food for a huge potluck, it was super fun. Here is one of the murals:

They did such a nice job! Here are Caroline and Phoebe:
So cute. Here is Caroline with her project. Her topic was 'Pharaohs' and she made a great clay model of the statues at Ramses II tomb.
She helped to make her 'tunic'
Here is Phoebe with her project, she had Gods and Goddesses:

Her babysitter helped her do her makeup! Some of her classmates didn't recognize her...

Some random boys:
Miles and I are playing a game that someone made. I am wearing Caroline's crown, which had the intended effect of embarrassing her.....haha.
Caroline's whole display:
Katie and her Pharaoh project:

It was very fun, and also educational!!!

'Tis the Season...

...for holiday music concerts. Here is a sample of Miles' band concert.

Well, hey, not bad for a bunch of ten year olds. Miles plays alto sax, and he takes it pretty seriously. Since you cannot see him in the clip, here is a still photo.

That was last Wednesday. Next, on Friday, we had Caroline's piano recital. She played two pieces, and did a great job. Here is "The Wild Horseman" by Schumann.

Here's Caroline in her still photo, too.

Nicely done, kids.
